Kimberly Mercurio is Featured in New England Home Magazines Cape & Islands Issue
The Cape Cod Summer issue of New England Home magazine, published in June 2015 features the work of Kimberly Mercurio. Author Megan Fulweiler features landscape architects working on Cape Cod and illustrates how landscape professionals create designs that compliment indoor spaces of residential homes. The article points to KMLA’s clean built approach to a project in West Falmouth, MA located at the Great Sippewissett Salt Marsh. In relaying her minimal design aesthetic, Mercurio is quoted as stating that her goal was “to disturb the fragile ecosystem as little as possible,” and “draw the owner into the environment.” The design epitomizes KMLA's approach of embracing the natural landscape. Fulweiler describes the project as "employing minimal intervention, she blurred the line between Mother Nature and man. The pool is minus a surround, grass grows in the stone path, and walls are a mix of fieldstone along with native and reclaimed granite."
