The Indigenous Landscape
Our mindful approach to the practice of landscape architecture is strongly influenced by a project’s natural and cultural environment including topography, daylight, plants, geology and architecture. Design is a way of telling a story and the discourse of the setting is often a response to microclimate, geography, terrain, seasonality, local tradition, or construction materials. This can be conveyed in the siting of a home; planning outdoor space to take advantage of natural light or views; or it may be expressed in the materials used for the construction of a wall or terrace.
Every aspect of landscape shapes and informs the design of a project. We unify the natural and cultural conditions in our design work and create idealized settings to improve the quality of life for our clients.
