Art and Place

Landscape architecture is an act of design that lives as a continuum of historical practice and is inspired by a variety of fine art media. It lives within a context of influences that go beyond the practice of landscape architecture: sculpture, painting and photography contribute to the aesthetic and experiential approach of our design process.

I found I could say things with color or shape that I couldn’t say any other way, things I had no words for.

Our work reflects an approach where we seek to build a personal, intimate and powerful sense of place. The artists who inspire us are masters at making the people who view their work feel a part of the natural environment, providing an experience that connects them to the greater world.

Each project we design is a unique expression of place, influenced by geography and created using a collaborative approach with clients, architects, and consultants.
