Silver Hill
Silver Hill, Lincoln, MA
Set within the scenic town of Lincoln, Massachusetts, Silver Hill occupies a two-acre pastoral site as part of the Lincoln Land Conservation Trust. This project aims to establish a sustainable landscape design with high environmental standards, to serve as a model for future developments in the area.
A defining feature of Silver Hill is its 100% native plantings, highlighted by an extensive meadow at the property's front. This meadow enhances the landscape's natural beauty and supports biodiversity with strategically placed pollinator gardens. A designed wetland meadow manages rainwater effectively, blending aesthetic appeal with ecological functionality. This project received a letter commendation from the Lincoln Landscape Conservation Trust which praised the work for maintaining and enhancing the conservation values and planting of native species consistent with the intent of the Conservation Trust and stated this project would serve as a model for future site plans in Lincoln, MA. The Lincoln Landscape Conservation Trust commended the Landscape Architect and the clients for creating such a beautiful and ecologically diverse native habitat.
Sustainability is integral to our design, featuring pervious pavements, gravel driveways, and reclaimed granite pavers. Large granite slabs with thyme joints adorn the terraces, seamlessly blending functionality with elegance. The fireplace patio, with custom Corten steel firewood racks and porch swings, adds rustic charm. Innovative water management includes rainwater capture from the metal roof, directed into a Corten steel runnel feeding the wetland garden. This enhances visual appeal and promotes efficient water use. This design harmonizes ecological responsibility with aesthetic excellence, setting a benchmark for future site plans.
