KMLA Receives Three APLD Landscape Design Awards For Residential Design
Kimberly Mercurio Landscape Architecture received three awards from the 2016 APLD International Landscape Design Competition. The judges recognized three residential landscape architecture projects with a Silver Award for each. All of the awards were for projects located on Cape Cod and they will be featured in the APLD publication, The Designer magazine.
The Association of Professional Landscape Designers is an international non-profit organization dedicated to establishing the highest standards for the landscape design profession
The judging panel was comprised of well‐known experts in the field including, Carolyn Mullet, Greg Pierceall, and Julie Moir Messervy. Judges commentary and response to the projects included;
"Excellent restrained modern design. Well planned and executed entry path. Beautiful materials and craftsmanship for the patio and retaining walls making a lovely, calm space."
"A handsome project that handles a variety of difficult situations with aplomb. I like the abundance of plant material that is artfully crafted throughout in the vernacular Cape Cod style."
The firm will receive the awards at the 2016 APLD International Design Conference in Santa Fe, NM, being held Sept. 15-19, 2016 for the Residential Landscape Design (over $100,000).
